RE :               Equipment Disposal Information Request for 2013-14

DATE :          May 1, 2014

THIS MESSAGE IS FOR THOSE WHO PURCHASE or USE EQUIPMENT PURCHASED BY THE COLLEGE THAT, WHEN PURCHASED, HAD A COST OF $5,000 or MORE and A USEFUL LIFE GREATER THAN FIVE YEARS.

As part of our year-end closing process, we need to review any capital equipment "DISPOSALS" that need to be removed from the books of the College - because we no longer have a given piece of equipment. To that end, I was wondering if you could advise me as to what equipment, meeting the criteria above, you have disposed of during the past fiscal year. For example, typical capital equipment that we would be looking for are the following: Computing equipment (i.e. Servers, but not PCs), Scientific equipment, Vehicles or other miscellaneous equipment (that meet the criteria noted above).

Examples of capital equipment that we have capitalized in the past are as follows:

POWER EDGE COMPUTER SERVERS
SCIENTIFIC MICROSCOPES / SPECTROMETERS
LANDSCAPING EQUIPMENT
VARIOUS VEHICLES

Again, please note, I am ONLY interested is these types of equipment that would have had a purchase price greater than $5,000 per item and a useful life greater than five years. .

If you are aware of a piece of equipment that has been disposed of in the past fiscal year, please send me an e-mail indicating as much of the following as possible:

Equipment Name/Description (provide as much detail as possible)

Vendor Name (if known)
Model and/or Serial Number (if available)
Date of Purchase (approximate dates are fine)
Purchase Price (please estimate if exact figure is not known)
Salvage Value (if any)
Date of Disposal (approximate dates are fine)

Since our year-end process is fast approaching, please advise no later than June 30th if you are aware of any equipment disposals using the criteria given above. Also, please feel free to call me at extension 8676 to discuss further if necessary. Thank you in advance for your time and cooperation.
