Suneal was valedictorian of his class at Zephyrhills High and was elected to both the French National Honor Society and National Honor Society. In addition to his outstanding academic record, Suneal held many leadership positions and received the Leadership/Best All-Around Student Award. He was a member of the Student Council and served as president of his class for two years. He won district awards in speech contests and went on to participate at the state level.

Believing that all students should have a safe space in school where they could be themselves, he founded the first Gay-Straight Alliance in Pasco County. He was also president of the Future Business Leaders of America, played varsity tennis for four years and was team captain in his senior year. He played varsity golf as well as varsity soccer and found time to volunteer at the local hospital emergency room. His other volunteer activities also included a trip to China to teach English to both students and adults.

During the summers, Suneal participated in the Hugh O'Brian Leadership Camp, the National Youth Leadership Forum in Medicine at Villanova University, Students for Tomorrow's Leaders, and the Presidential Youth Leadership Conference in New York.

The summer after his freshman year, Suneal interned with a Congressman in her Washington, DC office. Last summer, Suneal traveled to South Africa with Cross Cultural Solutions. He heled a small businesses with their income-generating plans and worked in a community center teaching English and a dance class. When he returned, he volunteered with a gay rights advocacy group in NYC. At Swarthmore, Suneal was on the varsity tennis team and participated in Swarthmore's dance group, Rythm N Motion.

Suneal entered Harvard Law School in fall of 2009.
