Second Tuesday Science Cafe is a monthly lunchtime lecture series that is provided by members of the College's science faculty. The talks at these events are geared towards individuals who have no formal science background. The only requirements are curiousity about science and a willingness to learn about new concepts. This talk was given by Professor of Engineering Carr Everbach.

Everbach joined the faculty at Swarthmore in 1990.  He is a Hunt Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America, and received his M.S. and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Yale University. Recently, Everbach has partnered with the Swarthmore Borough Police Department to implement a fleet of solar-powered squad cars, as was profiled in the Philadelphia Inquirer. His work with engineering student Hayden Dahmm '15 was covered in the Inquirer and the October 2013 Bulletin.
