Amy Graves is a professor of physics whose interests include simulations of chemical and condensed matter systems. Her book, Forces and Motion (2008), a text for middle and high school students, explores physics concepts that are are explained in accessible terms and brought to life with everyday examples. Graves has taught at Swarthmore for more than 20 years, focusing on courses, both general and advanced, on classical mechanics, statistical physics, quantum mechanics, and computational physics, as well as a seminar on gender and physical science.
