GSST 091: Research Seminar in Gender and Sexuality Studies

This senior seminar focuses on interdisciplinary research done within and on Gender and Sexuality Studies. For the first few weeks of the semester, the seminar will trace the development of GSST-related research trajectories and methodologies and discuss the theories of gender and sexuality that informs them. Then, guest lectures by GSST faculty at Swarthmore will allow students to review current scholarly projects pertaining to GSST topics and theories while beginning work on their own research topic, providing them with an opportunity to connect their (inter)disciplinary majors to their minors by thorough analytical work. Drafts will be workshopped in class and final presentations held colloquium-style as a poster-session with GSST faculty and students. The capstone is required of minors or special majors in GSST. However, it is also open to juniors and seniors with substantial experience in GSST.
