Topic: Rebuilding and Redesigning the Diesel Engine Test Stand: Designing a Practical Biodiesel Fuel

The existing diesel engine test stand, in the basement of Hicks Hall, is currently not fully operational. The mechanical and instrumentation problems must be fixed in order for the test stand to be of some use for future exercises or research. After the test stand is oiperating correctly, I plan on designing and installing new measurement nad data collecting systems. This then enables the test stnad to be used for testing different possible biodiesel fuels. Replacing the use of petroleum diesel fuel with biodiesel fuel has numerous benefits for the environment as well as the user.
