The Fishbowl

Honors Playwriting Thesis

The Fishbowl

The Department of Theater is proud to present the premiere of Anna Belc '07's original play THE FISHBOWL, directed by guest director David Disbrow. This is the Department's first honors thesis production in playwriting.

THE FISHBOWL is the story of Margaret, a medical student, who searches for the meaning of the death of her drug-addicted brother together with her immigrant parents and her brother's girlfriend. Playwright Belc explores the family's varying emotions of grief with humor, pathos, and insight, with a mindful eye on their self-preservation throughout the disorienting process of living with his death.

Running time: 90 minutes. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis. A reception with the cast and company will follow each performance. For more information, please call (610) 957-6164 or email fleicht1@swarthmore.edu.
