Thomas Hartnett '94

Thomas Hartnett ‘94 serves as managing director, Co-Head of Global Markets, and Head of Americas & EMEA Fixed Income for Mizuho Securities USA. Previously, he was a managing director at Deutsche Bank. He started his career in financial services in 1999 after completing an MBA at Columbia University. For three years, prior to his work in finance, he was a senior engineer with EME Group. Since 2010, he has also served on the board of directors of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association. 

Hartnett earned a B.S. in engineering from Swarthmore and was appointed to Sigma Xi, the scientific research society. He was also a volunteer firefighter with the Swarthmore Fire & Protective Association. He resides in New York City with his wife and two children. Their daughter, Elisabeth, is a member of the Class of 2026.
