Richard Ortega '73

Richard Ortega ’73 was inducted into the College of Fellows of the Association for Preservation Technology (APT) at the organization's annual conference in November. Ortega, architect and engineer, is senior associate and director of preservation technology at RMJM Hillier, in Philadelphia. At the induction, Ortega was recognized for leading symposia on Historic Timber Engineering and the History of Iron and Steel as well as his work on the APT board, focusing on issues of preservation engineering and creating the first APT technical committee on preservation engineering. In 30 years of practice dedicated to building diagnostics and the technical aspects of historic preservation and architectural conservation, his projects have received over 40 local, state, and national awards.
