box_judish_julia.jpgJulia Judish ’89, a lawyer at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, was recently awarded the Klepper Prize for Volunteer Excellence by the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia. A practitioner of employment law, Judish began advising the Legal Aid Society on personnel policies in 2001. That project led to many others, and she now assists Legal Aid in multiple pro bono capacities, including serving as its outside legal ethics counsel. Judish also provides pro bono counsel on employment law and legal ethics matters to several other nonprofit organizations. A spokesperson for the Legal Aid Society said, “Julia has not only provided direct client services but has served as Legal Aid’s ethics counsel and advised us on a range of organizational and employment issues, providing crucial support that has allowed Legal Aid to maintain its high caliber of legal work.”
