Judith Grace Stetson ’59

box_stetson_grace_judith.jpgJudith Grace Stetson ’59 has been named recipient of the 2011 Falmouth Heritage Award, which honors pioneering individuals in the cultural safeguarding and heritage preservation of Falmouth, Cape Cod, in Massachussetts. The Heritage Award recognizes Stetson’s distinguished leadership in heritage preservation and her community activism, which has inspired others to value and participate in the preservation of Falmouth’s rich cultural history. Stetson is editor of Spritsail, a biannual journal documenting and capturing the diverse history and culture of Falmouth through photography, storytelling, poetry, and feature pieces. Falmouth is a historical site known for being one of the first English settlements in America, where sea captains built their homes and families. As a citizen activist, Stetson has actively encouraged community members to participate in the cultural preservation of Falmouth.
