Joshua Green ’92

Joshua Green ’92 has been named Hawaii Physician of the Year by the Hawaii Medical Association. A member of the Hawaii State Senate (the 3rd District) since 2008 and an emergency room physician at Kohala Hospital in Kapaau and Kau Hospital in Pahala, Green is vice chair of the Senate Health Committee and is known as Hawaii’s voice for healthcare. During two terms as a Hawaii state representative, he spearheaded a movement to provide affordable and accessible healthcare for all the people of Hawaii. Prior to being elected to office, Green was medical director and physician at the Kona Salvation Army Clinic. Following residency training, he served in the National Health Corps, practicing medicine in underserved areas of Hawaii. Previous awards include 2009 Legislator of the Year, Hawaii Dental Association; 2008 Outstanding Elected Leader, Coalition for a Tobacco-Free Hawaii; and 2006 Kulia Award, Hawaii Primary Care Association Legislator of the Year.
