Class participation

Active participation is expected, beyond mere attendance in lecture and lab (which is also expected). All information presented was determined experimentally and should be subjected to critical review. Questions serve to open up new lines of thought and inquiry. In the "real world" (grad school or med school), questions are expected after oral presentations (lectures and research presentations) as an indication that the listeners are excited by the presentation and are thinking about it.
