Valentine's Day at Swat

Screw Your Roommate
Screw Your Roommate is a yearly tradition that involves setting your roommate/friends up on a blind date and crazy costumes.

There are also serenades by Sixteen Feet, Screw Your Roommate, and the Vertigo-go Comedy Show. All are part of this special day.

Every year, Sixteen Feet, the only all-male a cappella group, ventures all around campus to deliver serenades to special someones. Students can purchase serenades ranging from a romantic love ballad to a smoldering, one-of-a-kind break-up special that you wouldn't find at Hallmark.  The song options range from Can't Help Falling in Love, I'll Make Love to You, Signed Sealed Delivered, and Business Time to Don't Want You Back and King of Wishful Thinking.

There is nothing boring about a Swat Valentine's Day. Where else does the phrase "I screwed my roommate" not bring you crazy looks from strangers? Screw Your Roommate is a yearly tradition that involves setting your roommate/friends up on a blind date and crazy costumes. Students find their dates in Sharples Dining Hall by searching for the other half of their costume. Costumes range from the traditional Romeo and Juliet to the creative dog and fire hydrant.

Vertigo-go's Comedy Show is now also a yearly tradition. After Screw Your Roommate and before the formal, students gather with or without their Screw date to watch a comedy show that has a Valentine's day theme. The show focuses on the comedic aspects of the life of a Swarthmore student and the potential awkwardness of Screw Your Roommate.
