How to Get Involved

The success of strategic planning is rooted in the engagement and sustained participation of the entire community. In order to ensure that every community member who wishes to contribute to the College’s strategic planning process has the means to do so, we have designed a number of community engagement activities that will be delivered throughout the process:

  1. “Introduction to Strategic Planning 101”  sessions across the campus regularly and on request.
  2. “SwatCircle” workshops: two-hour development workshops for small teams, offices, and peer and affinity groups that wish to share their team’s strategic planning perspectives with the Working Groups, committees, and broader community. SwatCircles will begin in April and continue throughout the Fall 2022 semester.
  3. Have your say! The strategic planning process has created an EdStem.org Discussion Forum that allows all Swarthmore community members to add their voice to the strategic planning conversation. Join “StratPlan2022 all campus” to view and respond to threads created by the Working Groups, committees, and others across campus. You will need your swarthmore.edu to sign on.

In addition, details of a number of other community engagement activities will be shared, such as community pop-ups, a speaker series, focused meetings, and all-campus events. If you are interested in participating in an “Introduction to Strategic Planning 101” session or “SwatCircle” workshop for your group or team, you can sign up for a session by contacting strategicplanning@swarthmore.edu.
