Timely Warning Notice - Sexual Assault 9/8/2019

Dear Community Members,

On 9/8/19 at approximately 1:30 a.m., Public Safety was informed of a sexual assault. Officers responded and met with the reporting Swarthmore student. At that time, we learned that the incident may have occurred earlier this morning at Worth Residence Hall. At this time, the reporting student is unable to recall any additional information.

The reporting student has been offered resources and options. Members of the Dean's Office responded to the incident, and the Title IX coordinator was advised of this matter as well.

Should you have any information that might aid in this investigation or if you observed any criminal or suspicious activity, please contact the Swarthmore College Department of Public Safety 610-328-8333 or the Swarthmore Borough Police Department at 610-543-0123 or 911.

While circumstances around sexual assaults can vary, it is important to emphasize that such acts of sexual violence are never the victim’s fault. The blame lies solely with the perpetrator(s).

The safety and well being of Swarthmore students are of paramount importance to the College. If you or someone you know has been the victim of a crime, please seek help and resources from Public Safety, CAPS, Title IX or other on- and off-campus support agencies.
