Oswaldo graduated from Swarthmore in 2021 with a B.S. in Engineering and a B.A. in Environmental Studies, with a focus on Decolonial and Indigenous studies. As a part of the President’s Sustainability Research Fellowship (PSRF), he worked to support programs such as the Green Advisors, the Sustainability Advocates, and the Council on the Uncertain Human Future. Through this project, he supported the creation of a week-long intensive learning experience called a huaka'i (journey with purpose), for a collection of staff, faculty, students, and community partners from Chester. Oswaldo was also a tour guide, president of Swatties for Immigrant Rights, co-president of Vertigo-go, and a bass clarinetist for the college wind ensemble. In his role as a Sustainability & Engaged Scholarship Fellow, he will be supporting the PSRF program, working to grow our existing relationships in Chester and Hawai'i, and continuing action plans around environmental justice and intersectional sustainability at Swarthmore.
