Donna McKeever arrived at Swarthmore College in February 2020. Previously, she worked at colleges and universities around the country, including UCLA, the University of Pittsburgh, Rice University, Mount Holyoke College, and most recently, Rosemont College.
She graduated from Bryn Mawr College in 1988 with an AB in German Studies, and she recently completed an MA in Publishing at Rosemont College (January 2020) with an editorial concentration and a focus on international literature. Her thesis explored the myriad of ways US publishers scout, procure, and translate German-language books from Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. Her research included interviews with a number of prominent editors at presses that specialize in publishing literature from overseas and led her to the Festival Neue Literatur, an annual Frankfurt Buchmesse event in New York City that spotlights up-and-coming German-language authors.
She has two sons who are currently navigating the challenging and exciting waters of college at a very unusual time.
