Transfer Student Session

Learn about resources available through the Lang Center for Civic and Social Responsibility.  

Online Course Registration

11 a.m.–12 p.m. in McCabe computer labs or on your own networked computer

Student Academic Mentors (SAMs) will be stationed in dorms and at public computers across campus to provide assistance in registering for classes.

Orientation Group Lunch

11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. in Sharples Dining Hall


1 p.m.–3 p.m. in Meet in Parrish Hall, Shane Lounge

Grab a friend or make a new friend here as you join an Orientation Leader to visit four centers on campus and learn about the many valuable resources they offer. Groups leave at 1:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.

Library Orientation

1:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m. (half hour program) in McCabe

Get a jump start on finding course books and making sense of college-level research! Sign up for a half-hour workshop at one of the Libraries (McCabe, Cornell, or Underhill). Meet a librarian and a RIA (Research & Information Associate) and walk away with free Library swag! Sign up online!

Jummah Prayer with Muslim Student Association

1:45 p.m.–2:45 p.m. in IC Big Room

Join the Muslim Student Association for Friday prayer. All are welcome.

Be Well, Be Safe, and Just Breathe: Living Well in College

3 p.m.–4:30 p.m. in LPAC

Physical, intellectual, mental, sexual, and spiritual health are critical components to your overall well-being as a student and person, but it can be hard to ask for help. Join Student Health and Wellness Services, the Athletics Department, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), the Office of Student Engagement (OSE), Religious and Spiritual Life, and Public Safety to learn about the programs, support, and advice they offer.

Orientation Group Dinner

4:30 p.m.–6:30 p.m. in Sharples Dining Hall

Shabbat Services with Swarthmore Kehilah

5 p.m.–6:00 p.m. in Bond Hall

A brief nondenominational Shabbat service and songs. Kehilah, Swarthmore's Jewish student organization, is LGBTQ+-affirming. All are welcome.

Shabbat Dinner with Swarthmore Kehilah

6 p.m.–6:45 p.m. in Bond Hall

Shabbat dinner prepared by students. All are welcome.

Alcohol, Other Drugs, and YOU: Managing the College Effect

7 p.m.–8:30 p.m. in Lang Performing Arts Center

College offers many new experiences, which may include exposure to alcohol and other drugs (AOD). This interactive discussion will provide a follow-up to AlcoholEDU while offering additional information to empower students.

Community Reflections

8:45 p.m.–9:45 p.m. in Locations Around Campus

Guided discussions will be facilitated by returning students.

Open-Mic Night

10 p.m.–12 a.m. in Sharples Patio; Rain location: Upper Tarble
