Interim Dean of Students

He’s Inspired by Swarthmore’s Ethos

“The thing I love about Swarthmore is this unapologetic sense that we can make the world a better place and we’re going to do just that. It’s an overt ethos here and it’s driven by the sense of justice and wanting to be of service in the world.”

He’s an Advocate for the Students

“My role is to give shape and direction to all of those things students are involved in outside of the classroom. It’s a well-articulated vision of the goals and objectives to support students while encouraging and empowering them. Our team helps them find support academically, helps to shape meaningful residential experiences, and to think intentionally about life outside the classroom. We give them agency, validate their concerns, and help them to not only navigate challenges, but to learn from them.”

He’s Active On and Off Campus

“On campus when I have time, I like to follow the sports teams, and attend films and lectures and performances. Just getting to know everyone and saying hello when I’m either at Essie’s or Sharples. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, and I like to bike, ski, and golf.”
