Worthstock/LSE 2018

The Worthstock Committee and Office of Student Engagement are excited to see you out on campus this weekend for Worthstock and LSE.  The committee has put a ton of work in to make sure we are going to have a great weekend. This email contains important information about the logistics and expectations for LSE and Worthstock.

Guest Policy for LSE & Worthstock:

Guests are welcome to attend with current Swarthmore Students.  Each event will have a table for guest check-in. Your guest will have to show a valid Photo ID and provide emergency contact/host information.  Hosts must be present during guest check-in. You are welcome to pre fill out the guest form (linked) and need to bring a printed copy with guest and host photo ID to the guest table on the day of the event. All guests must be 18 or older; there are not exceptions to this room and any guest under the age of 18 will not be able to enter the venue.  Visiting TriCo students count as guests and must have a Swarthmore student signing them in prior to the event. Doors open at 10:00 p.m and the event runs until 1 a.m.  Check in begins outside of Clothier at 9:45 p.m. Make sure to bring your OneCard so you can scan in and get a wristband.  Once you have a wrist band you’ll be able to enter and exit the event..

There are NO BAGS/PURSES/BACKPACKS allowed in Upper Tarble during LSE.  Please leave these items at home. You will be asked to return bags/purses/backpacks to your dorm room before gaining entry to the event. [top]

You’ll enter the event on the Mephistos side of Worth Courtyard. You cannot enter the event through the archway near Bond or the stage side of Worth Courtyard. Gates open at 12:00 p.m. but you can begin lining up at 11:30 a.m.  Check in will be split between students who would like to enter the event by checking-in alcoholic beverages (over the age of 21) and students who do not wish to check in alcoholic beverages.

If you are 21 or over you are allowed to bring alcohol to the event, but make sure to read the additional information below which outlines important expectations. Remember, you need your OneCard to check into the event.  A detailed schedule of the day’s events can be found below.  All attendees who wish to bring a bag or cooler into the event will be subject to a bag check. Water bottles and/or beverages outside of what is listed in the ‘Alcohol Check-In’ section are not allowed. There will be ample food, water, and other beverages provided free of charge in and around the courtyard. [top]

Worthstock Alcohol Check In:

If you are 21, you can check in alcohol at Worthstock. You are allowed to bring (6) 12 oz cans OR (1) bottle of wine. Bottled Beer and Hard alcohol are not permitted in the event.

Why no bottled beer? Many students walk around at the event with bare feet and glass beer bottles can result in broken glass in the grass!  Additionally, we have historically had problems with the lawn mowers that maintain the ground on campus being damaged by broken glass shards after this event. Thank you, in advance, for your understanding of this policy to help ensure a safe and fun environment for all.  Hard alcohol is prohibited as per College policy.

You are only allowed to check in alcohol ONCE during the event. Once your alcohol is checked in to the event it must remain in the event space until it is finished or you leave the event.  You can not remove your remaining drinks and return with them later. NO other liquids may be brought into the event space.  Again, ample water and other beverages will be provided in and around the event area.   [top]

External Event Staff:

To assist with access management we have external event staff assisting with Worthstock. These individuals will be assisting with bag checks, checking-in guests, and wristbanding at Worthstock  Please help us make them feel welcome as they assist with our LARGEST EVENT OF THE YEAR!!!! Swat Team will also be assisting with Worthstock and LSE to ensure student safety and serve as a student resource during the event. [top]

No Furniture in the Courtyard:

Inflatable furniture, lawn chairs, and blankets are allowed in the event area.  Dorm and other indoor furniture (including tables) are not allowed in the event space. Any furniture set up in the event area will be removed prior to the gates being opened. [top]

OneCard Dorm  Access Update:

In order to prepare for the event, OneCard access will be turned off for Mephistos Lounge beginning Saturday evening.  You may enter Willets using the north wing, south wing, or lower level entrance. OneCard access at Worth will only be available to current residents of that dorm during Worthstock  (roughly 11am-6pm). Bond will also be used as a staff staging area and will be inaccessible to students before, during, and immediately after the event.. [top]
