New Housing Options for 2021-2022

The return to a residential experience and fully occupied campus means that there are new housing opportunities for you to consider at Swarthmore. You can find more information below about new and exciting housing options that have been unavailable in previous semesters. 

Kyle House:   Kyle House has been offline for 2.5 years due to construction of Singer Hall.  Kyle House will return as student residential space Fall of 2021.  Kyle House is a small house with 9 student beds (3 singles, 3 doubles).   Kyle House is available for female-identified upperclass students.   Kyle House will be available through the Blocking process and, if not selected, offered in the housing lottery.  **Additional information about Kyle House, including updated floorplans, will be released with Blocking Information**

Parrish North: the College will be opening new rooms in Parrish Hall North. This updated wing will be gender-inclusive and include a mix of single and double options.  Parrish North is the wing closest to Kohlberg, and located below WSRN.   Some rooms in Parrish North will be available as block rooms and some will be available in the housing lottery.    Parrish North will house upperclass students only.   Parrish West and Parrish East will continue as gendered housing, with first-year and upperclass students eligible for room selection.  **Additional information about Parrish North, including updated floorplans, will be released with Blocking Information**

PPR Apartments:  two additional apartments have been set aside for individual single-room selection in the housing lottery.  This will mean that there are a total of 16 units in PPR apartments available for blocking and 4 units in PPR apartments available in the housing lottery as singles.    Two apartments in PPR will serve as gendered housing, and two apartments will be gender-inclusive. 

  • PPR Apartment 104 - gender inclusive singles unit
  • PPR Apartment 202 - gender inclusive singles unit
  • PPR Apartment 403 - female-identified singles unit
  • PPR Apartment 404 - male-identified singles unit

All other apartments in PPR apartments will be available as blocks. 

Strath-Haven:  limited student housing will be available in Strath-Haven apartments. Four-person, two bedroom, two bathroom units are available in Strath Haven condominiums for upperclass students.  Strath Haven units are furnished with regular college furniture (twin beds, desk, dresser, etc) and a small table, kitchen chairs and common area furniture.  Students living in SH condominiums are required to participate in the College meal plan but may select the Off-Campus Apartment plan. Additional information about 2021-2022 meal plans will be provided by Dining Services. Please note that living in Strath-Haven includes additional living expectations and requires a separate application process.  **Additional information about Strath Haven, including updated floorplans, will be released with Blocking Information**
