Blocking Process

2018-2019 Housing Blocking Process

*Blocking Updates as of April 4, 2018*

Please note that all blocks in Wharton EF may be in an area where an emotional support animal (cat) resides.  Should you have severe allergies or phobias, you should avoid these blocks.

If a student applies for a 'block' housing option, they apply for a number of room configurations along with a group of friends.  Blocks range in size from 2 to 8 students.  All rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are otherwise eligible for the Housing Lottery may apply for block housing.

We expect that approximately 500 students will select rooms during the Blocking Housing process.  Approximately 700 Rising seniors, juniors, and sophomore students will select rooms during the class Spring Housing Lotteries.

The Office of Student Engagement reserves the right to change blocks or substitute rooms numbers, after applications have been submitted for comparable rooms, if an error in calculations occurs or the overall occupancy needs of the College change. Block averages are calculated by hand by the OSE; mistakes happen—if they do, we’ll do our best to resolve them fairly and consistently.  Any changes to the blocking list will officially be posted here.

  • Blocking Application Deadline: Monday, April 9, 12:00pm (noon) to the Office of Student Engagement, Parrish LL76
