Lockers + Study Carrels

Student study at a carrel

Are you looking for a place to store your laptop and study materials while you take a break?

  • McCabe Library has storage lockers on the Lower Level, Level Two and Level Three.
  • Borrow a locker by checking out a key from the Circulation Desk.
  • Lockers are available for one week at a time.
  • If demand is high, the locker loan may not be renewable.

Student Thesis Carrels

Would you like to use your own carrel while writing your thesis?

  • Use this form to apply for a carrel in McCabe for a semester, or two semesters for longer projects. (Look for location maps at the bottom of the form. They may take a moment to appear!)
  • While you may keep checked out items and personal belongings on your carrel, the Libraries are not responsible for private property, so use of a locker is recommended.
  • Speak to Performing Arts Librarian Donna Fournier about reserving a thesis carrel in Underhill.
  • Thesis carrels are not available in Cornell.

Faculty Carrels + Study Rooms

McCabe and Cornell Libraries each have a small number of carrels available for faculty use. The faculty study rooms in McCabe are assigned by the College Librarian (x8489) and in Cornell, by the Science Librarian (x7685). Because of limited space, faculty may be asked to share with another colleague.
