Yumi Dineen Shiroma, Swarthmore class of 2016,  is a PhD student in English at Rutgers University, where she studies the theory and history of the novel. Hyperallergic's poetry editor, Wendy Xu, has selected two poems by Yumi for a monthly series that brings original poetry to the screens of Hyperallergic readers.
