David Todaro

Fall 2009, Lighting Designer, Senior Company

David Todaro has designed for several companies including The Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre, Off the Grid Festival, Annex Dance Company, Act 1 Theatre, and Swarthmore College. He has also been the assistant lighting designer the Opera Company of Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, Pig Iron Theatre Company, Gas & Electric Arts, and Miro Dance Theatre. David served as the Lighting Director for Jo Strømgren Komani's The European Lesson in Norway and will be traveling to Germany with Johannes Wieland's newyou, as well as touring domestically with Headlong Dance Theater and Rennie Harris Puremovement.

 

Daniel Perelstein '09

Fall 2009 - Spring 2010, Sound Designer

Daniel Perelstein is a freelance sound designer, composer, musical director, and technician in Philadelphia. He has rececently designed Grace (Nice People Theatre Co), Love, Jerry (Nice People Theatre Co), Preparations For Departure (Matchbox Theater Co), All-Victorious Ocean (Joanna Rotte), and others.
 

Rebecca Wright

Spring 2009, Director, Playwriting Thesis

Rebecca Wright is a Philadelphia-based director and dramaturg. Her directing credits include Hold Please with Eternal Spiral Project, Larry Loebell's The Ballad of John Wesley Reed, 2008 and 2009 Young Voices for Philadelphia Young Playwrights, and The War Party at InterAct Theatre Company. She also directed and co-created Selkie: A Home Made Play, an installation performance piece presented in a West Philly apartment, and two pieces at the 2009 Philadelphia Fringe Festical: It's Hard Times in the Camera Blanca, a parallel narrative environmental play presented at Murph's Bar in Fishtown, and Inside Julia Child, a one-man cooking show. As a dramaturg, she has worked with Sean Lewis, Larry Loebell, Arden Kass, Elaine Romero, Seth Rozin, and Aditi Kapil, among others. She holds an MA in Performance and Culture from the University of London. She is the literary director and resident dramaturg at InterAct.

 

Suzi Takahashi

Spring 2009, Director, Acting Thesis

Suzi Takahashi holds a BA in Theater from Barnard College, an MA in Performance Studies from NYU, and has trained with the SITI Company. As an actor, Suzi has performed for artists like Richard Foreman, Richard Schechner, Nicholas Martin, Darko Tresnjak, Taylor Mac, Emma Griffin, and Kristin Marting. Past acting credits include: Dead End, Dreading Thekla, and The Blue Demon all at the Williamstown Theater Festival; Phil Soltanoff's to whom it may concern at BIETF [Serbia] and Strange Attractors at Mass MoCA; and Sweeny Todd, Man of La Mancha, Private Lives, and Rough Crossing at the Bristol Valley Theater. Suzi has also worked with many NYC companies such as Salt Theater and Ma-Yi, and has toured nationally in the musical South Pacific. Directing credits include: St. George Hotel at the Connelly Theater, FTM at the Int. Transgendered Theater Festival, Dictee at Dance New Amsterdam, and The Mousetrap and The Unexpected Guest at the Bristol Valley Theater. Suzi is the co-artistic producer of the multicultural performance ensemble Ex.Pgirl with whom she co-created the original dance theater works Ablution, Waving Hello, 10 Plates, and Paris Syndrome. Suzi is currently an artist in residence at HERE Art Space. She has published in The African American National Biography and has taught theater at Hunter College, The City College of New York, and Marymount Manhattan College.
