Charles Coes
Charles Coes '06 is a graduate of the MFA Program in Sound Design at the Yale School of Drama. He is the Associate Sound Designer for the current Broadway production of David Henry Hwang's Chinglish. His other professional credits in New York City include sound designs for Second Stage, Manhattan Theater Club, Lincoln Center Theater, and the Nuyorican Poets Café. His professional regional theater credits include designs for the Mark Taper Forum (Los Angeles), Ford's Theater (Washington, DC), and the Yale Repertory Theatre. He has previously taught at the Yale School of Drama and Tisch School of the Arts (New York University). At Swarthmore, Charles was an honors student in History and Theater (with an emphasis in Theater in design). In addition to teaching Sound Design for the Department of Theater, he will be the sound designer for Michelle Fennell's honors thesis in directing in Spring 2012.
