For Admitted Students
Our Admissions Office is committed to working with admitted students and families, counselors, community-based organization advisors and prospective students during this uncertain time. We hope the following information is useful, and we are always available to answer any questions you have.
New first-year and transfer students are able to request a one-year deferral of their admission. Please submit a short written plan, two to three paragraphs, of what you will be doing for the year to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will require a student and one guardian signature, and students are not allowed to apply to or matriculate at another institution in the intervening year. Academic courses taken while on a gap year will not be counted toward the Swarthmore degree.
New students are allowed to defer for one semester. We plan to resume in-person instruction in Fall 2021.
If you have questions about your financial aid request and need-based financial aid decision, we encourage you to contact Swarthmore’s Financial Aid Office directly at email@example.com. Our caring and knowledgeable staff will work with you on an individual basis and make sure you get the information you need.
Welcome to Swarthmore! We are excited to connect with you and your families through our upcoming virtual events. You can register for these events, get more information for new students, and enjoy a special message from President Val Smith.
