The following message was sent to all students, parents and families by Greg Brown, Vice President for Finance and Administration on March 24, 2020
Dear Students and Families,
As you are well aware, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused unprecedented disruption, forcing the College to transition to remote learning for the remainder of the semester. Most of you have returned home or moved off campus to continue your studies. We appreciate that this abrupt change is causing financial hardship for many of you. In recognition of that fact, I am writing to update you on two initiatives intended to help provide financial relief for students and their families. These include the following:
- Credits for room & board charges for the remainder of the semester
- Student employment updates, including payments to work-aided students to compensate for lost working hours as well as emerging opportunities for student employees to work remotely
You will find detailed information on our approach to room and board credits and student employment for the remainder of the semester in our COVID-19 FAQ page for students, parents and families. While both initiatives come at a considerable cost to the College, we are committed to you as our students and hope these investments will help ease the financial pressures that many of you are facing amid this global public health crisis.
Thank you for your resilience, patience, and flexibility during these challenging times.
Gregory N. Brown
Vice President for Finance and Administration
