Returning to Work on Campus

Dear Staff and Faculty Colleagues,

I write to follow up on my recent message regarding our efforts to return to work on campus.

The Workforce Planning Group was tasked by President Smith with developing guidelines for navigating workplace- or employee- related policy issues in light of the ongoing pandemic and the various implications of modified operations. The guidelines for Returning to Work on Campus can now be found on the College COVID-19 website. Please note that, as the pandemic is a dynamic situation, we will continue to revise these guidelines as needed and add information and resources to the website.

These guidelines are informed by resources from public health organizations and the Pennsylvania government, and outline the protocols the College will put in place to help ensure we can safely implement a phased return to campus. They are intended to offer guidance for faculty and staff members as you come back to campus as well as offer a framework for department chairs and managers as they plan for the return of their team members in a manner that prioritizes the health and safety of our community while continuing to support operations at the College.

We ask that you familiarize yourself with these guidelines and the protocols that will be put in place to help ensure that returning to campus is conducted safely and effectively.

In the coming weeks, department chairs and managers are expected to outline and share their specific work plans with their staff members; please be aware that, as the overall College reopening process will happen in phases, this will involve continued remote work for many of our staff members who are able to do so. I will follow up separately with managers to share additional details on the development and submission process for departmental work plans.

Information Sessions

Human Resources will offer two online information sessions to address questions about the phased return to campus. The supervisor information session will be an opportunity to discuss how they should think through phasing and timing of bringing staff members back to campus, in line with Pennsylvania and College guidance. The faculty and staff member session will offer more detail for protocols that will be in place when you do return to campus. Please be sure to register with the links below if you are interested in attending.
