Wayfinding for Blind and Low Vision Travelers

This wayfinding service is designed to assist blind and low vision travelers in becoming familiar with walking routes on campus, and to navigate desired routes with the support of an accessible narrative mapping system. Over 100 detailed route directions have been compiled in a searchable database.

Commencement Celebration seating for guests with mobility issues

Guests with mobility issues, please contact Susan Smythem ADA Coordinator, by phone at (610) 690-2063 or by email at  A ticket is required for each person in this section. Seating may be in direct sunlight. Sunscreen is recommended.     

Accessible Parking and Shuttle Services for those with mobility issues

Accessible entrance to Mertz Field is available from the Ben West Parking Lot.  Please view map.

Accessible Parking Lot & Drop-off option

Persons with mobility issues are given priority to park in the Ben West Parking Lot and are given priority in golf cart shuttles to Sharples Dining Hall and Mertz Field.

Assistance for the Hearing Impaired

American Sign Language Interpreter

An American Sign Language interpreter will be signing for the celebration.  The signer will be included in the large screen display.  Please sit on the right side of the audience for best viewing.

Assisted Listening Devices

Assistive listening devices will be available for the celebration and can be picked up at the information tent on Magill Walk, the pathway between Sharples Dining Hall and the Mertz Lawn seating area.  Please indicate in advance if you will need a unit by contacting Susan Smythe by phone at (610) 690-2063 or by email at Please plan on leaving photo identification and phone number as a deposit for the unit.
