Please join the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry for an information session on research opportunities being held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 in SC 199.  Refreshments at 4:15 pm with Presentations at 4:30 pm.  The event will begin with an overview of the process the department uses to accept research students into the various faculty labs.  Individual faculty members will briefly introduce their research programs and general information on summer opportunities outside of Swarthmore will be presented as well.  

After the Research Presentation session on November 22nd, we encourage students to check out the Research web pages for faculty members that interest them.   It would be helpful to reach out to students  who are working in labs to hear about their experiences.   Email the faculty member(s) you are particularly interested in and set up a time to meet and discuss research.  

At 7 PM on Tuesday November 22nd an online application form for doing research in any lab in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry will open up and will be linked here.  You must complete the online application by Noon on Monday  December 5th.  Chemistry/Biochemistry faculty members will meet as a group to look over all the submitted applications.  You will receive feedback about the availability of research positions  by the end of December.   After the internal Chemistry and Biochemistry application process is complete, there is a college wide summer fellowship process you will need to complete  if you are invited to join a lab.  The deadlines for the college wide summer applications are set by the Provost's office.
