Swarthmore College Community MLK Day of Service

The Black Cultural Center and the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life in conjunction with the Office of the President have organized a community service project to benefit the youth of Chester, PA. Community members (volunteers) will assemble packages of collected school supplies to be distributed to Chester Community Charter School, Chester Eastside Ministries, Chester Boys & Girls Club, God’s House of Glory and Community Action Agency of Delaware County. This event will be followed by a lunch for Day of Service volunteers.
Selma: Film Screening and Talk Back

Selma is a 2014 American historical drama based on the 1965 Selma to Montgomery, Alabama voting rights marches led by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. James Bevel, Hosea Williams and John Lewis. Selma premiered at the American Film Institute Festival on November 11, 2014, began a limited US release on December 25, and expanded into wide theatrical release on January 9, 2015, two months before the 50th anniversary of the march.
