Welcome to the City

Alumni networking

Welcome to the City spans the month of October in 2018!

Now in its 12th year, Welcome to the City offers a great chance to make new Swarthmore connections in your city or region!

Every year, hundreds of young alumni from Swarthmore College move to new cities in pursuit of further degrees, research, new jobs, or just to resettle. During the month of October, in 16 different cities across the US, alumni Connection groups will be having informal get-togethers where Swarthmoreans can welcome new residents, pass on valuable information about their new locale, and socialize and network with other members of the Swarthmore community.

If you scroll down on this page, you will find a list of cities having events in October, if you live in or near one of them, or if you know you will be visiting on that particular day, kindly RSVP by clicking this link:

Note: The registration page indicates no fee for these events, but please bear in mind that many of the individual events are pay-as-you-go happy hours or gatherings at restaurants.

Thanks and we hope to see you there!

If you wish that your area were represented, write to Geoff Semenuk in the Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement at gsemenu1@swarthmore.edu and volunteer to help set an event up! Welcome can be a happy hour, or a meet-up at a park, or a potluck at someone's house or backyard, or just about anything that you can dream up. Don't be shy!
