What Happened to History Since 1962

Three history majors from our class will talk about some of the changes in teaching and writing about history since we left Swarthmore: Judith Markham Hughes, Ronald G. Suny, and Daniel Headrick. The panel will be moderated by Evelyn Edson. Read more about the speakers [pdf].

Join fellow Class of ‘62 classmates for a kickoff Zoom event in celebration of our 60th reunion! We will meet and then break out into rooms of approximately three to five people to catch up and answer the question, “What would we study if we were students at Swarthmore today, and why?”

We had so much fun with virtual socials last year so we are hosting one this year as well. This will be a casual social event with breakout rooms so we can catch up and reconnect with each other. 

March 23 - An Evening with Four Class of 1962 Poets

Moderated by Valerie Van Isler, featuring Andrea Neiman Jackson, Lise Menn, David Swanger, and John Wright. The evening will include: introductions, readings, discussion with the poets, and at least a half hour of “hanging out” among ourselves to socialize. 

Stay tuned! We are planning at least another three Zoom sessions for our class between now and the on-campus reunion (Friday, May 27 – 29), and hope to announce the dates and subject soon.  If any of you have a topic you like to see on a Zoom or on campus, please let any of us know by emailing 60thReunion@swarthmore.edu.
