Reunion Event Planning

Virtual Class Programming

Each class is invited to plan up to two virtual class reunion events between Jan. 1 and April 30. These are great opportunities for a classmate give a lecture or book talk, informal conversations in breakout rooms, or you can get creative! While nothing can take the place of in-person connections, during Reunion 2021 we learned that virtual programming has many benefits to offer, including being accessible for classmates who are unlikely or unable to travel to campus. Virtual programming can also allow you to host events that otherwise wouldn’t occur in person, such as panels with several speakers or multi-media projects.

Alumni Weekend Programming

Class Activities

Milestone reunion-specific activities will take place during Alumni Weekend during the following designated hours. (Reunion volunteers are neither required nor encouraged to fill all of these slots.)

  • Thursday, May 26 between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. (50th reunions only)

  • Friday, May 27 between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. (50th reunions only)

  • Friday, May 27 between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

  • Saturday, May 28 between 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

  • Informal post-dinner evening programming is also possible in designated lounges or common spaces.

More information about how to submit class activity proposals will be available in late 2021.

All-Alumni Entertainment

Each year, Alumni & Parent Engagement receives a multitude of requests for bands and other entertainers to perform during Alumni Weekend. Space on campus that can accommodate these types of events is limited. Our office strives to offer a wide variety of entertainment to appeal to the broad cross-section of alumni who attend Alumni Weekend. We take into consideration the class year of performers, genre and style of performances, audio visual requirements, venue type, and budget.

Invited bands are scheduled based on the College's needs and overall Alumni Weekend schedule; they are not permitted to perform past 10 p.m. Performers are compensated for their time and talents.

If you have questions about entertainment during Alumni Weekend, contact alumniweekend@swarthmore.edu or 610-328-7332.
