Basics of the Spring Lottery
-Students must have a -$0.00- balance on their student account in order to be eligible for the Spring Housing Lottery
-Class Year is determined by the Registrar's Office, and based on completed academic credits
-Students may only select on a 'senior' lottery number one time while at Swarthmore
-Lottery #s are randomly generated your rising sophomore year. Your rising junior year, your lottery # is calibrated based on the number you use to select your sophomore housing. Your senior year, your # is based on a sum of your two past numbers.
-Rising juniors and seniors must have completed the College's PE requirement and submitted their sophomore paper in order to avoid lottery # penalty.
-Generally, lottery #s are assigned
Rising Seniors = #1 - #399
Rising Juniors = #400 - #799
Rising Sophomores = #800 - #1199
-If you pick a room in the housing lottery, you use the 'best' number between you and your roommates. If you select a single, you use your #.
-If you pick a room in the blocking process, your lottery number is averaged with those you are applying.
-Sophomores are not eligible to select singles in the regular housing lottery. All members of the rising sophomore class must have a roommate in order to enter the housing lottery.
