ABC Housing
The Strath Haven A Better Chance Program offers guests to Swarthmore College an alternative to staying in an area hotel during special event weekends, by providing accommodations with families in Swarthmore and neighboring communities. Also known as the ABC Program, this volunteer-run organization provides a residential college preparatory program in the greater Swarthmore area for talented minority high school students from underperforming school districts.
Lodging in family guest rooms is offered at a charge of $75 per night, per room, with a $75 nonrefundable deposit. All proceeds support the Strath Haven A Better Chance Program.
Things to Keep in Mind
- Lodging is provided in private homes
- Up to two guests are welcome per room
- All hosts provide non-smoking environments, and smoking is not permitted
- No meals are provided as part of this service
- Please note pet allergies under "special needs" on the housing request form
- Transportation is not provided, please request a home within walking distance of the College if you will not have a car
