Sustainability Charrette - How to Participate

Swarthmore’s Sustainability Charrette offers an opportunity to respond creatively to climate change on two levels simultaneously: both by refining concrete plans for improving our environmental footprint and by developing a community process for engaging all levels and parts of our community in this crucial work. As one of the primary goals of this work is to have broad and inclusive engagement, participant selection will largely be based on a delegate model to try to have as many different departments represented as possible.

You are welcome to attend the entire event (this is preferred) or you can just attend the sessions that work best with your schedule. Please note that the Breakout Workgroups (see the Charrette Schedule) are the most important moments for representation.

If you would like to participate, please first speak with your department chair, supervisor, or (for students) StuCo leaders and ask to be your department or a student representative and then email Laura Cacho (lcacho1) by Friday, January 23rd with the following information:

  • Whether you are a faculty, staff, or student and which department you represent.
  • Whether you can attend the entire event or which sessions you can attend.
