9-9:30 a.m. Meeting for New Students with Loans (Lang Concert Hall) If you borrowed or might borrow in the future from the Federal Stafford Loan, Federal Perkins Loan,or Swarthmore College Loan programs, be certain to attend this required session.
9:30-10 a.m. Student Employment Information Session (Lang Concert Hall) Learn the ins and outs of working on campus from the Student Employment Office.
9:30-10 a.m. DIY Dorm Art (dorm lounges)
10-11 a.m. Departmental Advising Fair (Upper Tarble, Clothier Hall) Representatives from all academic departments and programs will be on hand to answer questions and to assist with course selection.
11 a.m.-noon Academic Adviser Meetings (adviser's office) Meet to discuss your plans for the coming year.
Noon-1:30 p.m. Lunch with your SAMs (Sharples Dining Hall)
1-5:30 p.m. Scheduled Individual Meetings with Academic Advisers
1-3 p.m. Acquaintance Sexual Assault Prevention (ASAP) Workshop (dorm lounges) See your RA or orientation packet for your assigned time and location details. All new students must complete an ASAP workshop; be sure to sign in with the moderator or RA/CA.
1-2 p.m. Art Department Portfolio Pickup (Beardsley 305)
1-4 p.m. Campus Orientation Tours (meet on Parrish front steps) Get to know your way around campus with the members of your MARACAS group. Tour includes a stop at Career Services-learn about summer research opportunities, summer funding, externships, and internships.
1-4 p.m. Library Orientation (McCabe Library) Meet Swarthmore's friendly and helpful librarians, become familiar with McCabe Library, and learn how to find, retrieve, analyze, and cite information for academic assignments. All students must participate once during orientation week.
1-4 p.m. Ice Cream Party (Parrish Beach) Stop by for an ice cream treat provided by the friendly folks in the Alumni Relations Office.
1-4 p.m. Scott Arboretum Plant Giveaway (Wister Education Center and Greenhouse) Learn about the campus arboretum, and receive a plant to liven up your dorm room.
1-4 p.m. Games on Parrish Beach (Parrish Beach) Enjoy some good, clean, outdoor fun with your new classmates.
1-4 p.m. Chair Massages on the Beach (Parrish Beach) Already looking to relax, relate, and release? Five-minute chair massages will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, thanks to Worth Health Center's Wellness Program.
2:30-4 p.m. SAMs Drop-In Hours (McCabe Library) Student academic mentors will be on hand to discuss course selection and to suggest study skills to ensure a successful start to your Swarthmore career. All students should plan to attend a SAMs session.
2:30-4 p.m. Job Fair (Sharples Dining Hall) Many on-campus employers will be on hand to share information about jobs available in their offices/departments. Turn in your employment forms (W-2, etc.) at this event.
5-6:30 p.m. Dinner (Sharples Dining Hall)

7:30-10 p.m. We Are Swarthmore: Dialogues on Difference and Inclusion (meet in LPAC) Facilitated by current students, first-years will engage in intentional dialogues to explore their identities and what it means to foster inclusive communities that acknowledge, respect, and honor our many differences.
10:30-11:30 p.m. Residence Hall Gatherings (dorm lounges) MARACAS group leaders will organize social events for each hall.
