Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Born in Vietnam and raised to its culture and politics of 'guanxi' (relationship), I moved to Singapore for high school where I soon grew tired of a materialistic, me-first society and desired a change; I applied ED to Swarthmore. Apart from my (close) friend group, I have been bonded with this college through intellectualism and social, ethical activism. At the bottom line, I am a cultural traveller, a conversationalist, a pragmatic idealist, a story-teller and a team-player. And I see people as individuals with their own story, complexity and struggle and prefer not to label them.
Major/Minor: Economics, Public Policy and Pre-Med
Campus Activities and Interests: I have been working hard to start a weekend program to support orphan youths in Ho Chi Minh City to develop some vital social skills. On campus, I am part of I-20 and I am also beta-testing an online platform for social innovation.
