The Housing Questionnaire
Why all the questions?
2017s: By now, you should have received your housing questionnaire in the mail. Your answers will help me when grouping roommates and dorms of residents. Based on trends I’ve seen over the past few years, here are a few friendly tips to keep in mind as you fill out your questionnaire:
Make sure you fill out the questionnaire and not your parents (It happens...often...and almost always ends up with bad roommate pairs!)
Be honest and reflective when answering the questions. Don't select the answer you would “like” or “want” to be.
For example, if you are usually pretty messy in your room, make sure you select that option...don’t select ‘compulsively neat’ in the hopes that your organized roommate will help keep you on track. Similarly, if you are someone who really likes to get to bed before midnight, don’t select that you ‘go with the flow’. This is the kind of thing that can work out for the first few weeks but can end up driving you crazy by the time we get to mid-terms.
While we cannot accommodate specific building or roommate requests, there is a comment section on the form so you can tell me anything you think I need to know when placing you in a dorm. If you’ve got something to say or ask, feel free to put it down. I can’t guarantee I can meet your request but it never hurts to put it down in case it ends up being helpful.
Housing questionnaires must be completed by June 1st. If you’ve completed the form online you have until that date to go back and make changes/additions/etc.
