Class of 2016
Rising sophomores will preference room choices and roommates on WEDNESDAY, April 24th, 2013. At this time, in the Spring lottery, you will NOT choose an actual room. Instead, you will preference all 'sophomore-floors' in rank order. All rising sophomores who do not win a block will receive their room assignment on or about July 1, 2013. This will mean that we no longer have a 'sophomore waitlist' and, instead, all sophomores will receive room assignments in true lottery order number. For your rising sophomore year, your number is RANDOMLY assigned. You are just as likely to receive the 'best' number in your class as you are the 'worst' number in your class. First-year rooms assignments are not taken into account when being assigned a lottery number. Students who are assigned Mary Lyons dorm their first year are guaranteed non-ML/PPR/SH/Woolman/Kyle housing if they prefer for their second year, but lottery numbers are not changed in this process. Rather, we guarantee that you will not be assigned a room in one of the above-mentioned locations....all other dorms are options though. Students who do not live in ML their first year do not have location priority for their second years.
Rising sophomores generally secure doubles (or larger rooms) in the following locations: Kyle House, Lodges Mary Lyons, Palmer, Pittenger, Roberts, Strath-Haven, Willets, Woolman
Rising sophomores sometimes, but very rarely, secure doubles in the following locations: Alice Paul, DanaWell, Parrish Wharton ABEF,
Rising sophomores may NOT secure rooms in the following locations: David Kemp, Mertz, Wharton CD, Worth
As a rising sophomore, you must select a roommate. The only sophomore singles that are available are located in Mary Lyons basement. If you are not able to secure a single through that process, you must enter the lottery with a roommate.
