Meet Recaps
Swarthmore captured the first eight races en route to the
victory. Senior Becca Howes-Mischel (Venice, CA)
teamed with junior Lisa Ladewski (Ann Arbor, MI),
freshman Leah Davis (Palo Alto, CA) and sophomore
Natalie Briones (Montevideo, MN) to capture the 200
medley relay (2:00.45). Howes-Mischel also won the 100 back
(1:04.94), while Briones captured the 200 free (2:01.30).
Davis was victorious in the 50 free (26.81) as classmates
Krista Gigone (Meadville, PA) won the 1000 free
(11:25.27) and Tara Trout (Bath, PA) took the 200 IM
(2:21.25). Junior Allison Lyons (Potomac, MD) won the
100 fly (1:16.18) and sophomore Davita Burkhead-Weiner
(Bloomfield, MI) won the 100 back (1:04.94). Swarthmore led going into the final event but a Diplomat
win in the 400 relay gave F&M the meet. Junior Amy
Auerbach (Timonium, MD) and sophomore Natalie
Briones (Montevideo, MN) were triple winners against
F&M. Auerbach captured the 200 free (2:01.2) and the 200
fly (2:19.35) while Briones won the 50 free (25.26) and the
200 breast (2:33.74). The duo teamed up with Becca
Howes-Mischel (Venice, CA) and Davita
Burkhead-Weiner (Bloomfield, MI) to win the 400 relay
(4:14.63). Amy Auerbach , Natalie Briones, Tara
Trout, and Becca Howes-Mischel were all double
winners as the Garnet topped the Generals 127-75. Auerbach
captured the 1000 free (11:12.81) and the 500 free (5:27.74)
while Briones won the 50 free (25.22) and the 200 Breast
(2:32.39). Trout won the 200 IM (2:17.38) and Howes-Mischel
captured the 200 Back (2:18.26). The duo teamed up with
Leah Davis and Lisa Ladewski to win the 400
medley relay (4:25.12). Krista Gigone won the 200 free
(2:03.14) and Davita Burkhead-Weiner won the 100 free
(56.99). Krista Gigone, Amy Auerbach, and Natalie
Briones were all triple winners helping to defeat
Widener in a non-conference contest 120-85. Gigone won the
1000 free(11:11.39) and 500 free (5:27.63). Gigone,
classmates Tara Trout and Leah Davis and
junior Amy Auerbach won the 400 free relay in
3:48.65. Auerbach also placed first in the 200 free
(2:00.05) and 200 fly (2:17.21). Sophomore Natalie
Briones captured the 200 IM (2:13.50) and 200
breaststroke (2:32.47). Briones teamed up with senior
Becca Howes-Mischel, Davita Burkhead-Weiner,
and Trout to win the 400 medley relay (4:15.85). Natalie Briones was a triple winner and Amy
Aurbach, Becca Howes-Mischel, Tara Trout,
Davita Burkhead-Weiner, and Leah Davis were
all double winners as the Garnet defeated the Green Terror
137-67. Briones won the 100 free (54.94) and the 200 IM
(2:16.22) Briones, Davis, Trout, and Burkhead-Weiner
captured the 400 free relay (3:49.47). Davis also finished
first in the 50 free (26.03). Auerbach won the 200 free
(2:00.34) and 200 fly (2:19.17). Howes-Mischel was
victorious in the 200 back (2:20.84) and teamed up with
sophomore Laura Fox (Weston, MA), Trout, and
Burkhead-Weiner to win the 400 medley relay (4:18.72). Amy Auerbach was a triple winner while Natalie
Briones and Tara Trout were double winners as
Swarthmore defeated NYU 109-98. Auerbach captured the 200
free (2:17.35) and the 200 fly (2:35.12) and was joined by
teammates Trout, Leah Davis, and Davita
Burkhead-Weiner to win the 400 free relay (5:04.45).
Also, Trout was victorious in the 200 IM (2:34.18). Briones
won the 50 free (28.59) and 200 breast (2:50.49). Swarthmore finished first in every event to defeat Bryn
Mawr 207-49. Natalie Briones, Tara Trout,
Leah Davis, Lisa Ladewski, and Alice
Bonarou (Athens, Greece) were all triple winners. Senior captain Becca Howes-Mischel was the lone
Garnet winner at Gettysburg. Howes-Mischel captured the 200
backstroke (2:21.21).
