Lancaster, PA -- The Centennial Conference announced its All-Cross Country squads today, and Swarthmore junior Joko Agunloye (Jamaica, NY - Hillcrest) was named the Female Runner of the Year, after winning the 5K Championship race in a school record time of 18:41.67. It is the third straight first-team nod for Agunloye, who finished second at the 1997 championship and fourth at the 1998 meet. She is the first Garnet harrier to earn Runner of the Year honors.
On the men's side senior Liam O'Neill (Milwaukee, WI - Marquette) placed second in the 8K championship in a time of 26:01.49 to earn first-team honors while junior Marc Jeuland (Chicago, IL - Lincoln Park) placed ninth in a time of 26:20.06 to earn second-team honors. Jeuland was also second-team All-Centennial selection in 1998 when he placed tenth.
The Swarthmore women's squad finished in sixth place out of ten squads while the men placed third of nine squads at the championships, held in Gettysburg, PA on Saturday, October 30.
