Three Swarthmore Women's Lacrosse Players

Earn Post Season Honors

 

 

Swarthmore College placed three players on the 2000 All-Centennial Conference women's lacrosse squad as selected by the conference's ten head coaches while two earned regional All-American honors.

Junior defender Kristen English (Plymouth Meeting, PA - Plymouth Whitemarsh) and senior goalkeeper Jane Kendall (Potomac, MD - Sidwell Friends) were named first-team All-Centennial while sophomore attack Katie Tarr (Glen Mills, PA - Garnet Valley) received second-team recognition.

English earned first-team all-conference and regional All-American honors while leading the team with 89 ground balls and 52 caused turnovers. English was third on the team in scoring with a career-high 18 goals and six assists. This is the second consecutive year English has been named first-team all-conference.

Kendall was a first-team all-conference selection and second-team regional All-American while leading the conference in save percentage turning away a career-best 65 percent of the shots she faced. Kendall ranks sixth in Division III save percentage and posted a career-best goals against average of 9.03. The netminder was one of only four goalkeepers to be selected to play in the prestigious Division III Senior North-South All-Star Game.

Tarr led the Garnet offense with 67 goals and 10 assists for a career-best 77 points while finishing second in the Centennial in goals. The 67 goals ranks fifth best on the Swarthmore season goal-scoring list, and Tarr now ranks seventh on the Garnet career- goals list with 128.

The team posted a 10-7 record this season reaching the ECAC semifinals for the third time in four seasons. The Garnet fell to Ithaca in the playoffs, 12-3.
