Marandola, Wojtkowski Named to

All-Centennial Softball Squad

 

 

Swarthmore College junior shortstop Heather Marandola (Madison, ME &endash; Madison) and sophomore outfielder Stephanie Wojtkowski (Silver Spring, MD &endash; Stone Ridge) were named to the 2000 All-Centennial Conference softball team.

Marandola, who hit .320 on the season and led the team with 11 runs scored, was named second-team All-Centennial. Marandola drove in eight runs, hit three doubles and had the team's lone home run while matching a team-high 24 hits with Wojtkowski.

Wojtkowski, who led the conference in hitting with a .490 average and is 15th in Division III in triples per game averaging 0.22, received honorable mention recognition. The outfielder also led the squad in extra base hits with five doubles and four triples and was named to the Centennial Conference Softball Academic Honor Roll.

The Garnet finished the season at 5-22 overall and 3-13 in Centennial action, winning three of its final five games.

Swarthmore College is a highly selective liberal arts college located 11 miles southwest of Philadelphia in Swarthmore, PA.
