Swarthmore, PA -- Swarthmore College Athletic Director Robert Williams has announced the appointment of Don Norton, of Mullica Hill, NJ, to the position of head men's soccer coach.
Norton comes to Swarthmore after serving for two years as an assistant coach at Richard Stockton College (Pomona, NJ). No stranger to Swarthmore soccer, Norton served as assistant men's coach from 1993-97. Norton's previous coaching includes stints as an assistant at the University of Pennsylvania (1997-98) and Rutgers University-Camden (1992-93).
"We are pleased to welcome Norton to Swarthmore. He is well respected in the soccer community and will be a valuable addition to our athletic program," stated Williams.
Norton is a 1980 graduate of Gettysburg College, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in sociology. Norton also has a master's degree in educational communications from Rowan University.
Swarthmore competes at the NCAA Division III level and is a member of the Centennial Conference. The 1999 soccer team posted a 4-15 record.
