Swarthmore College junior defender Cameron MacDearmid (Topsfield, MA - Brooks School) was named Centennial Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for October 1, 2001. MacDearmid scored the game-winning goal with three minutes to play to give the Garnet a 2-1 victory over Ursinus, breaking Swarthmore's 16-game Centennial Conference losing streak. It was MacDearmid's first goal of the season and the Garnet's first Centennial win since a 3-2 win over Western Maryland on Oct. 9, 1999. The Garnet is 5-6 overall and 1-3 in conference on the season.
