Swarthmore College running back Ken Clark (Farmington, CT / Taft School) set numerous records with his performance in the Garnet Tide's 29-21 win over Franklin & Marshall that earned him Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors. Clark set a school and Centennial record with 52 carries for a school-record 317 yards and tied a school standard with three rushing touchdowns. Clark's touchdowns runs came from 48, seven, and one yard out.
Clark's season totals are 190 carries for 804 yards - which is two carries and 58 yards shy of establishing new single-season Swarthmore records. The sophomore needs 196 yards in his final two games vs. Western Maryland and Washington and Lee to become the first Garnet Tide back to gain 1,000 yards in a season.
At 3-4 overall and 2-4 in conference play Swarthmore is enjoying its best season since 1995.
